DANETTE RAGIN

Danette, a two-time kidney recipient and a donor family member, has held the role of team captain since 2019, attended her first Transplant Games in Houston in 2014 and has been to every Games since!

“Attending the games is like attending a huge family reunion. We cry, laugh and enjoy life for an entire week TOGETHER ❤️

It is an honor and privilege to be at such a gathering with folks from various states celebrating life
just like me.”

JUNE FAUVER

June began attending the Transplant Games as a supporter and could initially only participate in the 5K where she proudly earned her first medal, a bronze, in Kentucky.

The 1994 Games in Georgia were especially meaningful, as it was the home state of her better half, Eric’s deceased donor, a 40-year-old who passed away from a heart attack. To June, it felt like they were “bringing the kidney home.”

She loves telling the story of a packed bowling alley where everyone paused to take their medication, a powerful moment where she felt truly understood, surrounded by others who shared the transplant journey.

TYLER BAILEY

Tyler is our youngest member whose first Transplant Games were in 2024.

I love the games! Being able to come together with a group of people who have been through some tough times and compete is awesome to be a part of.

My favorite part of the games is definitely basketball. I have been playing since childhood so being able to compete again even after a transplant is something I really enjoyed.”

GEORGE FRANKLIN III

George is the longest African-American deceased donor recipient; he received his lifesaving kidney in 1975 and is still healthy and active to this day. He has competed in 12 Transplant Games and counting and won 18 medals so far.

In November 2025 he will be celebrating 50 years with his transplant!
